After spending over 10 years assisting the learning and developmentally disabled in achieving greater independence through positive work experiences, assisting LDACNY through my work on the board seems a natural step!

Serving on the Board at LDACNY has been an honor & a pleasure. Sharing time with others who feel passionately & positively about bettering the lives of children, teens and adults with learning disabilities in our communities has been a truly rewarding experience. Seeing the impact of our efforts in the recipients and the programs has beenpersonally fulfilling.

Rebecca Grossman, LDACNY Secretary

ESM School District

Being on the LDACNY board has given me the opportunity to give back to the agency that helped me start my career. It has also helped me to understand the philosophy that it is not if a child can learn, but how was can help him to access that knowledge through different modalities. LDACNY was onto that trend long before it was trendy!”

Deborah E. Finch

Dannible & McKee, LLP Tax Partner

I have always believed education is fundamental in order for individuals & societies to reach their highest potential. Once I learned about LDACNY’s mission I knew it was the organization I wanted to work with and sup- port. Working with the staff & fellow Board Members has been an incredible opportunity to see how assess- ment, treatment & maintenance can impact our community. The genuine care demonstrated by all those associated with this organization continues to inspire me and makes serving on this board an incredibly rewarding experience.

James Graham

National Grid, Senior Analyst Materials Planning

Personally, I’ve witnessed those with simple yet unrecognized disabilities be left behind simply because no one recognized the difference in the way they should be taught. By serving I hope to assist with providing those individuals’ young and old the opportunity to learn by helping recognize their disability and providing them with the best information and programs available. Although this organization is only one tool in battle against learning disabilities it is one great tool which I will assist to the best of my ability to help others. This is one of many reasons why I’m serving the LDACNY.

Brannan Karg

I came across LDACNY through a co-worker. I had wanted to give back to my community for several years, and truly believed in LDACNY’s mission. I have served on this Board now for over 6 years and continue to be impressed with the great work they do for the community.

I learned about LDACNY from a colleague and was immediately impressed with the work of this organization.  Having access to services and programs like those offered by LDACNY can be life changing for individuals with learning disabilities.  I have enjoyed serving on the LDACNY board and look forward to being a part of the future of this outstanding organization.

As editor of Syracuse Woman Magazine, I had the privilege of meeting and writing about two clients of the LDA. Seeing the struggles these women had overcome made me want to help the organization in any way possible.
